IMRA interviewed former Speaker Labor MK Shevah Weiss, in English, on September 27 after a Labor Party source told IMRA off the record that the Labor Party does not talk about Avishai Raviv because "it would divert the focus from their targets." :

IMRA:  There has been a lot of criticism from the right wing today that no one from the left wing mentions Avishai Raviv.  It is as if Avishai Raviv does not exist

Weiss:  We must do everything to discover the truth.  The criticism from the right wing against the results of the jury (there is no jury in Israel - IMRA) in the Margalit Har-Shefi case is a manipulative trick.  Because the question is not Avishai Raviv. The main question is what was the power of the activity of the right wing.  The demonstrations, the fascistic demonstrations, that there were so many there against Rabin.  I would like to say that they had before the assassination of Rabin.  That is the main question from my point of view.  Not Avishai Raviv.

IMRA:  Are you satisfied that the story of Avishai Raviv has been sufficiently aired?

Weiss:  That is not the main point.  The main point is the main part of the right wing activity before the murder of Rabin.  That is the main question.  That is the historical question.  Its not Avishai Raviv.  From my point of view Har-Shefi and others were a part of the right wing activity against Oslo.  It was from a very formal point of view a legal activity but from a historical point of view, a moral point of view, a cultural point of view this was activity that prepared the ecology, the atmosphere that killed
Rabin.

IMRA:  So if a decision is made not to pursue the Avishai Raviv story at all you wouldn't be disappointed.

Weiss:  I am sure that one of these days the Avishai Raviv case will come to the jury.  But this is not the point.  The point is the right wing crazy and fascist activity against Rabin.
